Welcome to our selection of tours in and around Owhango. Unless otherwise stated, Forest Lodge supplies transport to and from your accommodation as well as morning or afternoon tea and an information pack and guide.
We run the tours on demand providing there is a minimum of 2 people,
providing there is a Guide available and the weather is suitable. The tours
also include geographical, historical and cultural information about the
Tongariro National Park and is also suitable for people who want a guided
tour of the area but are not interested in Lord of the Rings.
Lord of the rings - Tour One
Tour Itinerary:
Walk under Mt Doom, visit Henneth Annun [Ithilien Camp] and Orc country, see Mordor, Emyn Muil, Meads Wall, walk on the Orc road and Encampment. See the spot where Sauron lost the ring.

Walk to Ithilien camp and waterfall.See Gollum`s Pool. View Mordor, Door Of Sammath Naur, slopes of Mt Doom, Barren waste Lands, Sea of Boulders. Tour two includes all of Tour One.

Pick up from your accommodation or by arrangement. A few lessons in fly casting if required. Drive to the chosen stretch of water for the evening. A cuppa and fly selection for the rise then into the fishing.
Tour Cost:
$350.00 pp. $150 for extra person. Max. 2 persons.
Starts right on dark. Take a journey into the backcountry of New Zealand for a Magicial and Captivating evening. Walk through our Enchanting Glow Worm Grotto, you will be left Spellbound. Pleasant 20 min walk though the grotto then return back the same way you came. You get to see the Glow Worms twice.

Either arrive at forest lodge or we pick you up from your accommodation. Drive to our choosen spot, have a cuppa decide what fly to use. Then into the fishing.

Half Day: $350 for 1st person, $150 per xtra person. Max 2 persons.
Full day: $550 for 1st person, $150 per xtra person. Max 2 persons.
Float trips add $200 per trip.
