  About Us
Two and a half years ago Julianne Hurn and Willie Wilson purchased Forest Lodge. Both were desiring career and lifestyle changes and spent many months traveling the North Island of New Zealand seeking suitable opportunities. Julianne and Willie saw so much potential in Forest Lodge purchasing it was an easy decision to make.

Previously, Julianne had worked as a specialist nurse for Elder health in Palmerston North and has 30 years of nursing experience, including ward charge nurse for six years. Willie was a commercial eel fisherman and has many years experience as a hunting and trout fishing guide. He has trapped possums, owned a possum exporting business and run adventure tours in the Hawke's Bay.

Julianne's many years of nursing experience coupled with Willie's outdoor and wildlife skills ensure that every guest at Forest Lodge will be well looked after!

"Owhango is such an idyllic spot and so well located near to some of New Zealand's most popular outdoor activities we thought it would be an ideal base for the outdoor enthusiast," comments Julianne.

"It's pretty tough having to go mountain biking, tramping, rafting, hunting and fishing, and then call it work!" says Willie about his chosen occupation. "We are proud to share our unique slice of nature's playground with our guests and look forward to greeting all our guests regardless of where they are from."
